Connecting the Days of Daniel
“But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end, many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.” Daniel 12:4
This then brings up an interesting point. Are there time periods, starting from the dates of 1914, 1917, 1933, 1948, and 1967, that would lead us to wonder when the final time will come? Others have tried from a different perspective, but time passed their dates by and unfortunately many have become disillusioned. With hindsight bias, there are those who stand to criticize the ones who thought about such important matters. However, it is believed here that the hindsight bias should help us to better evaluate and narrow down the possibilities...
As we saw, 1914 is 2,520 years from 606 BC. But what if we advance the last known possible time given in the Bible for a generation, which is 100 years. One hundred years is the age of Noah’s children at the time of the Flood and the age at which Abraham had Isaac. One hundred years is the only option left since it has now been 94 years in 2008. One hundred years would place us at the 9th of Av 2014 as a possible date for a very sorrowful day in Jewish history. Also, one hundred years from the capture of Jerusalem in 1917 would place us at Hanukkah 2017 as a possible date for something to celebrate. So how could these dates be significant?...
Additional note: Abraham’s 400 years is listed as four generations in Genesis 15:13-16, making each generation 100 years.
In Daniel there are times given concerning the last half of the Tribulation of seven years. We know that the Tribulation is seven years because in Daniel 9 the Antichrist enforces a covenant for seven years, but causes desolation to occur halfway in the seven years. Jesus talked about this in Matthew 24. It is at the end of the seven years that Jesus returns to end the Tribulation, which is 1,260 days after the Abomination of Desolation. This is Jesus cutting short the days to spare mankind...
Additional note: The Days of Awe depict the final battle scene that ends at the Day of Atonement–Day 1,260. The Tribulation cannot be only 3.5 years because the clear text of Daniel 9 and Matthew 24:15 shows that Messiah was cut off after the 69 weeks with other events such as the Temple being destroyed falling between the gap of the 69th and 70th week. Christ also warns of the event that occurs midway through the seven years. He himself is referring back to the Abomination of Desolation found in Daniel 9. It is still yet future.
Another time in Daniel is given as 2,300 evenings and mornings, which would be 1,150 days. This is the time that it takes from the destruction of the third temple by the Antichrist until Jesus returns to end the Tribulation. Therefore, a model can be developed with these days to find out when these significant events occur in the Tribulation...
Note: Daniel 8:11-14. Here the clock begins after the Temple is destroyed yet again for the third time on the ninth of Av. In doing the calculations, 1150 days fits between the time of the ninth of Av and the tenth of Tishri--the Day of Atonement or known as Yom Kippur. The count starts on the 11th of Av because the destruction starts on the 9th and goes through the 10th of Av—much like in times past. This period of time of a little over three years can only have one leap month occurring to keep the calculation valid. This time is often said to have been fulfilled at the time of Antiochus Epiphanes and the Maccabean revolt when Hanukkah came to be. The day count, however, cannot be made to fit precisely and the events of Daniel 8 speak of the end time. If we try to make the 2300 evenings and mornings 2300 days instead of 1150 days, the start point would have to be before the Abomination of Desolation in the Temple. This is not possible since the Temple cannot be destroyed before the Abomination of Desolation.
It is widely held that the Tribulation ends on the Day of Atonement. This is the day Israel will look up in the Heavens and see Jesus returning with the Church—the Bride of Christ—and all Israel will believe and be saved. The Day of Atonement is one of the Fall Jewish Festivals that has not been fulfilled. Taking the 1,260 days backwards from that time will lead us to the Feast of Firstfruits (Easter) in some years. This is because the Jewish year is lunar based and adds leap months from time to time. In those years that support these dates, the times of Daniel flow seamlessly. The 1,335 days from Firstfruits lands three and a half years later on the third day of Hanukkah—the gift-giving day. The 1,150 days or 2,300 evenings and mornings fits between the ninth of Av and the Day of Atonement three years later—the end of the Tribulation...
Daniel 12:11-13. 1,290 and 1,335 days come after the Abomination of Desolation where the sacrifices are stopped and the Antichrist demands to be worshipped as God. It is 1,260 days from this event until the Day of Atonement, but then includes 30 more days for a time of mourning after the Day of Atonement to get 1,290 days. Remember, Israel can do their celebration of the holidays the next month when events preclude them from celebrating them (Numbers 9:1-11, 2 Chronicles 30). From the end of the 1,290 days it advances 45 more days to arrive on the third day of Hanukkah (the gift giving day), which then equals 1,335 days.
...the calculations of Daniel point to the significance of the Jewish holidays of Firstfruits and Atonement, Hanukkah, and the ninth of Av. The time periods of Daniel can, in other words, fit only in certain years between these days. The fact that 1914 and 1917 highlighted two of these days is curious—the ninth of Av and Hanukkah. It is even more curious that the order and spacing of them fits the spacing as indicated by the book of Daniel. This was the first piece of the puzzle discovered in this research, because signs occurring on important days are not left to chance, especially if they fit the model developed out of Daniel...
Therefore, if we move a uniform time that the Bible uses for a generation, will we land at a time on the Jewish calendar that will work? If we advance the last available time of a generation (one hundred years) from the ninth of Av 1914 we would land on the ninth of Av in 2014. The same would go for 1917, landing us at the third day of Hanukkah 2017. Does it work?
From Firstfruits 2014 to Atonement 2017 is 1,260 days.
From Firstfruits 2014 to Hanukkah 2017 is 1,335 days.
Av 9, 2014 to Atonement 2017 is 1,150 days.
Av 9, 2014 is 100 years after Av 9, 1914.
Hanukkah 2017 is 100 years after Hanukkah 1917.
Atonement 2017 is on the Sabbath.
So the breakdown is that World War I began on the ninth of Av 1914. On its hundredth year anniversary, destruction could come to Israel’s rebuilt temple. The ninth of Av will see the fulfillment of three Jewish temples being destroyed on its date over 2,600 years exactly (587 BC to AD 2014—remember no year 0). The fact is that the 2,300 evenings and mornings prophecy places the temple being brought low on the ninth of Av. The remaining question is if it occurs 100 years after 1914...
Therefore, the question of one hundred years is then left to be answered. It seems reasonable since one hundred years is the largest amount of time defined by the Bible as a generation. Since this lands precisely in years, which support the time sequences of Daniel, it seems to offer further proof of validity...
If Armageddon also ends on the Day of Atonement 2017, it will also be on the Sabbath day for that year. This is appropriate since Christ is beginning the long awaited Sabbath Age of Rest (the Millennium) on this day...
